Collection Lasting Perfection Powder Review!

Hello!

Due to my skin tanning I had to buy some darker make up to go with my new skin colour. I usually use Seventeen's Miracle Matte Powder but I couldn't find it in store! So instead I decided to try out Collection's Lasting Perfection Powder seeing as I already use and love the Lasting Perfection foundation and concealer.

To see my reviews of the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation and concealer, click here!

The product claims to be a long lasting 16 hour wear powder and it comes with a mirror and sponge. I like the packaging for the powder as it looks protective but I don't like the system where you have to flip the powder up to get to the mirror. This means that when you're applying the powder it can be annoying to have to keep flipping between them! I'd prefer for the mirror to be opposite the powder on the lid.

The sponge is just a basic sponge. I personally don't like to use it and find it a bit pointless but I leave it in there just in case!

Apart from those negative points, I really like this powder. It has been my saviour during the hot and humid weather as I like to apply it over my foundation and concealer to cover up the shine! I find it does cover up shine, mattifies my face and lasts alright through the heat and through sweat. I find I only have to apply it when I first put it on and then only have one touch up during the day.

This powder takes me through day to night and goes so well with the foundation and concealer within the range! You can however only get it in 3 shades: Fair, Medium and Dark. I chose the Medium colour!

PROS:

  • Lasts long
  • Matte finish
  • Covers up shine
  • Lasts through heat and sweat
  • Doesn't need too many touch ups
  • Packaging is strong and protective
  • Affordable price

CONS:

  • Sponge seems unnecessary
  • Annoying to have to flip between the mirror and powder
  • Limited shade range

Overall I love this powder and will probably buy it again instead of my Seventeen Miracle Matte powder. It goes great with the matching concealer and foundation and I would certainly recommend it to my friends! You can buy it at the affordable price of £4.19

Lush Top 3 Wishlist!

Hey!

I thought I would share with you the Top 3 products on my Lush Wishlist.

1. Volcano Foot Mask- I have never used a mask for my feet before nor have I heard of one so I instantly found this intruiging!
2. Lemon Melt Shower Gel- This sounds so appealing to me! It sounds like the type of shower gel you'd want to use in the morning to wake you up with a lovely citrus smell.
3. Granny Takes a Dip Bath Bomb- I have seen so many posts about this bath bomb! The name is witty and it looks like it would form beautiful colours in your bath tub.

Have you used any of these or want to use them? Let me know!

Singing In The Rain!

Hey!

On Friday I went to see Singing In The Rain at the Bristol Hippodrome theatre. This is a musical I have been in love with since I was a young girl because I was (and still am!) a tap dancer. In fact, seeing this musical was on my bucket list so I am so happy I finally got to see it!

It was absolutely amazing. It was full of bright lights, great sets, fantastic clothes and beautiful singing and dancing. It was everything I expected!

The best part was of course where he is actually singing in the rain. It was beautiful and the front few rows of the audience got a bit wet so say the least! It is amazing how they can have realistic rain on stage. Other favourite parts included when they did the ever so famous 'Good morning' (good morning, to you!) and 'Make them laugh'.

Shows like this just make me fall in love with musicals and tap dancing even more.

LUSH: Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion Review!

Hey!

Here is a review for Lush's Vanilla Dee-Lite body lotion.

I had this lotion in a gift box from Lush I got for my birthday. I am glad I got it! I love the strong vanilla scent and it feels so lovely on the skin. I like to use it on my arms and legs after I have shaved and it doesn't take long at all to sink in and moisturise.

It also seems to last a long time. I have been using this since the end of April and I'd say I use it once or twice every couple of weeks and there is still loads left in the bottle.

The price for it is £12.75. Because of this I doubt I will ever buy it again because I prefer to spend a little less on my body lotions but overall I suppose that isn't too bad.

Have you used this? Let me know what you think!

LUSH: Gorgeous Moisturiser Review!

Hello!

Before I begin please let me explain that the product shown in the photo IS A SMALL SAMPLE FROM A GIFT BOX and not the actual size of the product. It is a facial moisturiser from Lush called 'Gorgeous' and the actual product is 45g.

The moisturiser is very moisturising and nourishing for the skin. My face felt very smooth after I applied the product which you only needed to use a small amount for. Unfortunately this is the only positive point I have for this product.

The moisturiser feels very greasy on the skin and takes a while to soak in. I also absolutely hate the smell! After looking at the ingredients it seems to have a lot of citrus fruits in it which surprises me as it smells absolutely nothing like citrus! I don't even know how to explain the scent but I just don't like it.

And yet after all that the actual moisturiser is £39.95!! I don't think I would ever be willing to spend that amount of money on a moisturiser, especially when I think it is so bad and not worth it. Lush claim it is expensive due to amount of awesome ingredients it has that all have a job to play.

Overall this is the worst moisturiser I have ever used and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Alas there are many positive reviews for it on their website but it just isn't for me. It makes me sad being so negative about a product from Lush as I love the company so much. But I suggest if you're thinking about buying this you should definitely try it out in the store first.

Rating: 1/5 (as it is very moisturising at least!)

Have you used this? What do you think of it? Let me know!

Models Own Microdots Nail Polish Review!

Hey!

So today I am reviewing Microdots by Models Own. It is a clear nail polish with yellow, blue, orange red and turquoise miniature particles. You can use it over other nail polishes to give a polka dot effect.

I really like this nail polish. It is easy to use and is a quick way to make your nails look more fun and interesting without the hassle of doing nail art. It is easy to paint over your nails and you can use the brush to poke the dots to spread them out in a better way across your nails so they don't end up in a cluster.

It is also probably the easiest glitter nail varnish to take off too. I love glitter nail varnish but never wear them as I am too lazy to deal with the hassle of removing it but this was generally okay to take off.

Here is a photo of it when I used it on my ring finger over Model Own's Coconut Cream:

Overall I really like this nail polish and I am glad I have got it. I will definitely use it again!

Do you have it and what do you think of it? Let me know!

Becoming An Auntie Again| The 5 Benefits of Being An Auntie!

Hello!
On the 3rd of April I found out I was going to be an Auntie again. The previous year my sister had my niece Lisa-Mae, and then surprisingly this year one of my other sisters is pregnant! It is the most bizarre feeling not being an Auntie and being the youngest of the family at the beginning of one year to being an Auntie to two by the end of the following year.

Here is the scan of my NEPHEW whose due date is the 25th of November:
There are 5 benefits of being an Auntie:

1. It's great practise before (possible) motherhood:
Before my niece was born last year I had never held a baby in my life. I had no idea what to do with babies or how to look after them. However as the months went on I got to know everything there is about caring for a baby which I think is a valuable life experience. If I ever became a mother in the future I will be very thankful for this knowledge I now know!

2. You can give them back:
Another benefit is that you can have enjoy the fun of playing with babies/children and the excitement of watching them grow...then give them back! I'm not saying I haven't had my fair share of nappy changing and constant crying, but it was always good knowing I could give my niece back to her parents when the going got tough. Although this is perhaps a shallow benefit of being an Auntie, it certainly is an advantage!

3. You have an excuse to do children's activities again:
Something I enjoy whilst having a niece is that I can sort of live my childhood again through her. You can now watch children's programmes and play with children's toys with a valid reason!

4. You can watch them grow and develop:
I find it so fascinating how babies learn, grow and develop. It means so much to share first moments with them such as their first time crawling, first tooth and first steps. Seeing them smile for the first time and hearing their cute little laughs is music to your ears.

5. You see your sibling grow and develop too:
Everybody changes when they become a parent. It is interesting to see your brother/sister who you have known all your life change as a person when they become a parent. Suddenly that sibling you once knew as a child and as a moody teenager is now a mature adult with responsibility and such strong emotion for their child.

Here are a few photos of me and my niece from the day she was born to her first birthday which was last weekend:

Are you an Auntie? Do you agree with my 5 benefits? Let me know!

Models Own Coconut Cream & Peach Melba Nail Polishes Review!

Hello!
The two in the middle

So a while back I won some nail polishes from Models Own which included these two. These are pastel coloured nail polishes but with a twist: they're scented! Here is my review of them:

Coconut Cream:

This nail polish is a beautiful white polish that smells exactly like coconut! I'm not normally a fan of coconuts but I love this scent. What is great about it is that you can put on other nail varnishes and a top coat yet you can still smell it! This is by far the best white nail polish I have ever used. It goes on like a dream and is the perfect white that's on trend.

Peach Melba:

Although this nail polish is good in its own right, I am not a huge fan. The smell is lovely and smells exactly like peaches but unlike Coconut Cream it doesn't seem to keep the scent with other nail polishes and/or a top coat. The nail polish itself goes on well and is great but I am personally not a big fan of the salmon colour. Not something I'd usually go for! However I am sure it will appeal to others and suit them perfectly.

Here is what they look like on. I only have Peach Melba on my thumb. As you can see they are great to use alone on your nails or with other colours. Here you can see on one nail I paired Coconut Cream with Models Own's Microdots. Isn't it great?

Watermelon Nail Art!

Hello!

Just a quick post to share with you my watermelon nails. I haven't done proper nail art in a while but I was really proud of these and how they turned out!

First I painted my nails red and left them to fully dry before painting the tips of my nails white. When they dried I then painted the tips green being careful to leave a white strip above them. Finally, I added long lines/dots of black on the red for the seeds!

I urge you to give them a go- they are simple to do and are perfect for summer!

What do you think of them? Let me know!

LUSH: Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub Review!

Hey!

I have had this pot of Rub Rub Rub shower scrub from Lush after it came in a big Lush gift box for my birthday from my sister.

It claims to be a scrub that exfoliates your skin. You can use it either on your dry skin for a rough scrub or use it on wet skin for a softer scrub. You then wash it off in the shower.

Let me begin with how it looks and smells. The smell is absolutely delicious! It reminds me of fresh air and the sea which goes well with the beautiful vibrant blue of the scrub. It feels cold and nice on the skin.

I used the scrub on dry skin and wet skin but mostly wet. On dry skin it is quite rough and be difficult to massage over the body but it does exactly what it says on the tub. I liked it most to use in the shower on wet skin before shaving.

Issues with this include that it is quite messy. Every time I used it no doubt the scrub would get all over the bath and I would have to wash it down afterwards to get rid of it. Furthermore the scrub would always get in to ridges on the tub making it difficult to screw the lid on. I would recommend always using and applying this in the shower and not over your bathroom floor otherwise you will regret it!

Overall I really, really love this scrub. I used the entire tub and I believe this is my favourite of all body scrubs. I am going to use up other scrubs I have for now but when I run out I definitely will repurchase this! In addition I would also recommend it to a friend and would even buy it as a gift for someone.

Have you used this product? What do you think of it? Let me know!

Boots Collection Haul!

Hey!

So I went to Boots the other day as I had to pick up some make up. I already use the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation and concealer but I have tanned lately so needed to buy it in a shade darker.

I usually use a different powder but they did not have it so I thought I would try out the Collection Lasting Perfection powder seeing as I already love the other two.

I have written an in-depth review of the foundation and concealer here if you'd like to check it out!

I will also write up a review of the powder soon.

Have you used any of these? What do you think of them? Let me know!

June Favourites

Hello! Here are my favourites for June:

  • Max Factor False Lash Effect 24 Hours Mascara. A review will be coming on this soon, but I really needed this mascara this month after I was finding all my other mascaras were smudging on to my my cheek in the heat. This was a life saver!

  •  Boohoo Holographic Boots. I have made a post on these already but these were definitely my favourite purchase from June by far. Love them!

  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I have already made a post reviewing this but I cannot help but talk about it! This is actually a photo of my second bottle as I have finished the first! Great for taking off make up and putting on cotton buds to clean up lines.

  •  Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder. This powder has already been in one of my favourites posts before but it was an absolute life saver in June. It was so hot in June that I found myself getting a shiny face a lot. But all I needed to do was apply this twice a day and it took the shine straight away! I have reviewed this product before also if you'd like to find it.

That's my favourites for this month! What were yours? Let me know!
